The Wrong Bed podcasts

Fancy being a guest reviewer on The Wrong Bed? The next episode of darts' finest podcast will be released on Friday 6 August, and we need your help. Both Tricky D and I are away during the European Championship, so we are looking for a couple of pithy 1 minute audio reviews of the tournament, to be sent to thewrongbed@bachelorofdarts.com by midday on Wednesday 4 August. Keep 'em short, clean and quirky, and if you're struggling with technology to record stuff, email 200 words and we'll see what we can do.

The Wrong Bed is darts finest bi-monthly podcast, released on or near the first and third Friday of each month. Interviews with the players, reviews of major tournaments, idle gossip and bad jokes made each episode half an hour of your your life that you will never reclaim. Previous episodes are available on iTunes, by clicking on the relevant small black arrow below, or via this direct download.

To receive a message each time a new episode becomes available, please contact mail@justinirwin.com with the phrase I want to get in The Wrong Bed in the title. To get in touch otherwise, please use thewrongbed@bachelorofdarts.com (this goes to Tricky D also), on twitter follow @bachelorofdarts, or leave comments below.

At the moment we are looking for: darting lookalikes, people who share their name with a famous dart player, darts games you've made up, tournaments with mates that you play in, and regional dart boards. Of course, if ever you see a dart board on a telly programme or film, we want to hear about that too. Thanks.

Things to do in Blackpool when you're dead

The World Matchplay takes centre stage with Colin Lloyd, our answer to the World Cup octopus, and plenty of things to do in Blackpool if you get beaten in the first round. Plus, listeners darting inventions get their first airing, including 'wicketkeeper' and 'wet cloth'. It's a belter.

Where have all the darters gone?

The sizzling summer of sport continues, but there's no darts on the telly! We speak to The Sun journalist Phil Lanning about how darts can compete with the bigger sports, and have a general love-in with Dave Allen, the PDC's PR god. Plus, we've got three more Phil Taylor's to tell you about. Pass the suncream.

Darting Queen

Following the recent World Championship qualifiers, women's darts takes centre stage without a patronising comment in sight. Stacy Bromberg gets in The Wrong Bed alongside Sky Sports commentator Dave Lanning, and we discover whether there actually is more than one Phil Taylor. Lock up your sons.

The Bounce Out Awards

The inaugural Bounce Out Awards come live(-ish) from Stevenage in front of a packed audience of dishy darters. Tricky D and myself prove to be the worst award hosts since Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood (and don't expect to be invited back), but the audience seem to enjoy the gathering of the great and the good from the world of arrers.

Episode 9 - State of the Dart

The final episode of our first series takes a serious tone, with Tricky D finally letting me rant til my heart is content. Luckily Alan 'The Saint' Tabern steals the show, with his straight-talking no nonsense attitudes towards darts a far cry from dartatainment, ably supported by the wonderful Deta Hedman. Once again, darts is the winner.

Episode 8 - There's no place like dome

TWB visits the former Millennium Dome to witness the emotional launch of the 2010 Premier League, and be part of the biggest darting event for a generation. Loud, brash, and in your face, and that’s just the Barry Hearn interview. Meanwhile, Terry Jenkins responds well to his 'Lovejoy' nickname, but we are too scared to tell Mervyn King what we call him. Darts literally doesn't get any bigger than this.

Episode 7 - Oh we do like to be beside the Lakeside

Tricky D is on fine form during his first visit to the Lakeside - in the company of Wolfie, Tony, Chizzy and Trina, amongst a cast of thousands. Sid clears up the 'only one word for that - magic darts' argument, and there's a lot of chat about all the recent World Champs. All we need now is a nickname for Ronnie Baxter.

Episode 6 - Do they know it's Christmas?

A plethora of predictable puns are interrupted by Tony Green and Stuart Pyke looking forward to the two world championships, Tricky D checking out darts in Iran, and Scotty Waites laughing all the way to the bank. About that Two Ronnies sketch...

Episode 5 - From Wolverhampton with love

We're at the Grand Slam of darts with more guests than Jonathon Ross - including the three W's, Wade, Waites, Whitlock. Anastasia drops in after her fantastic televised victory, and we have a proper chat with the Chief Exec of the PDC. All this, The Two Ronnies, some bar-room action and Tricky D trying to talk science. It's a cracker.

Episode 4 - Sixty-two green bottles

The Viking speaks! Andy Fordham talks about drinking, dieting and darting, plus we've catch up with our favourite common-tater John Gwynne, America's first lady Stacey Bromberg, and we've got more news than Moira Stuart. Is that music getting in your head yet?

Episode 3 - The Great Divide

This month in The Wrong Bed the legendary Mike Gregory breaks his silence about the big split, Martin 'Wolfie' Adams explains why he will never play in the Grand Slam of Darts, and we illustrate quite how badly darts is portrayed on the radio - thanks to BBC Radio 4's The Archers. I'm knackered just thinking about it.
